The Evolving World Of Technology: The History And Future
Technology in today’s world is continuously evolving as time goes by. It involves the use of certain devices which are tactfully programmed to perform specific tasks in order to help people make their jobs easier and faster. And for the last 100 centuries of human existence, it has indeed affected not only the lives of every individual but also the environment that we live in as well as the development of science.
When it comes to knowing the history of technology, it will be impossible for anyone to tract its first real existence. No one can really tell exactly how it begun. In fact the history of technology is very long and complicated. But some historical records indicated that the birth of technology has started during the time when Homer and Hesiod defined it as the ‘expression of manual craft and artful skill’. Aristotle also introduced it as ‘technologia’, a Greek word which eventually then meant to be the productive science.
Other records also stated that technology has surpassed a lot of historical periods including the birth of Renaissance Period wherein the researches and learning begun to bloom again after the Dark Ages and Age of Discovery during the 15th century. But it was during the 16th century that the real exploration and discovery begun. It is in fact the century where modern science begun and where great inventions have been introduced and considered to be some of the greatest discoveries.
Scientists are not recognized during the 17th century. Those scientists including the great Isaac Newton were considered as philosophers rather than scientists. It is in this century that many major events in philosophy and science have been changed. But the next 18th century is different from that scenario. It was during this century that steam engines and other machines are invented to act as substitutes to using animals at work. The next century has been all about machineries especially its tools. Machines have been invented to make parts for other machines and tools to make their tools.
Technology as well as discoveries and science during 20th century have continuously developed into an increased rate. It was during this century that the inventions of airplanes, automobiles, telephones, and other things have eventually marked the great history of technology. In addition to those things are the improvements and discoveries in computers, mobile phones, space crafts, and other things.
Researches in nanotechnology, biotechnology and information technology have been the main focus during this current century. In line with this are the ones which are continuously enjoyed by the people from all ages. These things include the discovery of wireless connection through the Internet, artificial intelligence, powerful microchips, LEDs, and many others.
The technology in today’s world holds a lot of promising things for the next centuries to come. It would be the ages where touch screen appliances, voice control and portable devices will be used. These things only show how powerful technology is. It is indeed the system of continuous change and improvements.
